Precision engineering and precision injection moulding components manufacturer LNG Resources Berhad has announced that it has put in place a dividend policy where a minimum of 50% of its net profits will be returned to its shareholders in the form of dividends.
According to Chairman and Managing Director Low Chee Thean, “The Company has been expanding at a very consistent pace and the Board is of the opinion that we should reward our shareholders for their invaluable support”.
“LNG is hoping to maintain this strong dividend policy and to reward shareholders with better profits in the coming years. All dividends declared by LNG since 2003 are tax-exempted and the distribution of dividends is subjected to the availability of distributable reserves, tax credits and capital expenditure of the Group”, said Low.
LNG Resources Berhad is a one-stop centre providing a wide range of services from design and manufacture of high precision moulds, tools and dies and precision engineering injection moulded components. Its products are mainly used in the semiconductor, electrical and electronics, telecommunications, computers and peripherals sectors.
For the financial year ended 31 December 2003, the company achieved PAT of RM4.1 million and dividend payout amounted to RM1.0 million. In 2004, the company achieved PAT of RM4.8 million and dividend payout was RM3.0 million. For the 2005 financial year, the company has declared an interim tax-exempt dividend of 10% and a special tax-exempt dividend of 10% which amounted to RM3.2 million in dividends.
